The Logical Group was set up in 2010 by our MD Barry O’Halloran, a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 20 years experience. 

Going beyond the obvious for clients and bringing a variety of disciplines and skills as part of an integrated service, Logical has developed a reputation for real engagement, honest advice and exceptional results. Our customers know we are a firm that they can trust but one that is also fun and stimulating to work with. Our main areas of expertise cover commercial property, small, large or somewhere in between.

Barry O’Halloran MSCSI RICS

Managing Director

Barry is a Chartered Building Surveyor, Qualified Quantity Surveyor and Architectural Technician.
A Commercial Property Specialist with over twenty years experience Barry has worked on a variety of portfolios across Ireland, UK and mainland Europe. He is known for his expertise in all aspects of strategy, feasibility, acquisition, transformation and disposal.

Operations Director

Una, a qualified Architectural Technologist. She has over 20 years experience in the areas of office design, new build, refurbishment, office & retail fit out, project management, space planning and interior design.

Brendan Campbell B.Sc. (Hons.) Surveying

Director Construction & Development

Having joined the Logical team in 2013 Brendan has led a wide range of prestigious fit-outs & property refurbishments for our clients. Brendan prides himself and his site team on being well organised with open communication and accurate information, as we believe these are key components to a successful project. Brendan is the single point of contact for our clients, with his calm and confident approach he has driven strong results with his team and earned trust among clients and colleagues in the industry.

An experienced Marketing and Client Relationship Manager, Valerie has 20 years experience managing customer relationships and delivering what they want. Managing projects efficiently and helping customers meet & exceed their goals is key for her.

Christopher Deery, MSCSI MRICS AIFireE

Director of Consulting Business

Christopher leads the real estate consultancy team at Logical. The consulting team is focused on innovation, sustainable growth, and ensuring delivery of considered advice and quality to our clients.

Christopher is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Fire Consultant with a vast range of experience in the built environment and construction industry. Working with influential people, Christopher has learned the importance of client care in the demanding world of commercial real estate. He enjoys advising on the acquisition and disposal of commercial property, dilapidations, expert witness, and fire safety.

Christopher is an APC Assessor with Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.

James McParland, MSCSI MRICS P.Grad.Dip (Fire)

Associate Director

As an Associate Director of the business, James actively manages client relationships and seeks out new opportunities. James is a Chartered Building Surveyor and completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Fire Safety Practice from Trinity College Dublin. James has significant experience in a wide range of building surveying services, including commercial building surveys, statutory consents, fire safety remedial works, dilapidations and defects analysis.

Richard Burke

Chartered Architectural Technician and Building / Fire Engineer

Richard is a Chartered Architectural Technologist and a Chartered member of CABE having qualified from the University of Northampton. He developed significant experience in planning and building control whilst working in a busy surveyor’s firm in Milton Keynes, UK. Upon moving to Dublin, he worked for two of the largest architectural firms on a wide range of projects from large scale residential to healthcare. Richard completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Fire Safety Practice at Trinity College Dublin in 2019 and since joining Logical, Richard has been assisting clients with surveys and advising on planning and building control matters as well as managing construction projects.Niall gained valuable experience over the past few years acting as lead consultant in a wide range of commissions, from technical due diligence to refurbishment works and commercial fit-outs.He joined Logical REC in May 2015 and is heading up a wide range of projects and professional work for our commercial clients.

Donna Carey, B.Sc. (Hons.) Construction Economics & Management. Diploma in Construction Technology.

Quantity Surveyor

Donna joined Logical development and Consulting in 2017 as a Quantity Surveyor and has recently been promoted to associate director and head of cost management. For over 25 years, she has gained valuable knowledge and expertise in all aspects of Quantity surveying from project feasibility right through to tender and construction stages.
Donna’s skillset includes providing cost advice, cost control, tender/contract documentation, value engineering & procurement and reporting, she is highly accomplished in the cost management in a diverse range of projects in both public and private.
Donna is a highly motivated individual and brings a hands-on approach to the business, who also enjoys being part of a successful and diligent team.

Matthew Flood, MSCSI MRICS P.Grad.Dip (Fire)

Chartered Building Surveyor & Head of Fire Safety

Matthew has a broad range of experience in various aspects of building surveying, including building pathology, legal and regulatory compliance and contract administration. Matthew takes a lead role in all fire safety consultancy services within the business. Matthew is a Professional Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Jack McGrane, B.Sc. (Hons.) in Building Surveying

Surveyor

Jack worked previously as a project engineer for lead a project management consultancy firm. Jack gained valuable onsite project experience on both large-scale pharmaceutical & mission critical projects.

Jack is building his own list of clients at Logical delivering on a wide range of core building surveying services. Jack is currently working towards his assessment of professional competence (APC) for membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and plans to further develop his education over the coming years with Logical.

Daniel Gunning, MSCSI MRICS

Senior Consultant

Daniel is an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor working as a consultant for Logical. Daniel manages a portfolio of clients for the consultancy team and delivers core building surveying services such as project management, dilapidation surveys, technical due diligence and statutory applications.

Jonathan Tavey, MSCSI MRICS

Senior Building Surveyor

Jonathan is a Chartered Building Surveyor with multifaceted experience in the built environment and construction industry. Jonathan spent most of his professional career to date working in London where he specialised in dilapidations matters and technical due diligence. Jonathan takes a lead role in the business in delivering strategic consultancy advice to our commercial clients. Jonathan is a Professional Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Ben Goss Kierans, Undergraduate in B.Sc. (Hons.) in Building Surveying

Intern Surveyor

Ben is currently studying Building Surveying at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT). Ben joined Logical for summer work experience and is due to graduate in summer 2024. Ben is gaining experience in laser scan measured surveys for complex commercial buildings along with a range of other building surveying tasks.

Graham Durkin, MSCSI, MRICS, IP402

Chartered Building Surveyor

Graham returned to Ireland in 2022 after working ten years as a Building Surveyor in Auckland, New Zealand. Graham’s experience covers various services, including building condition reports, defect analysis, technical due diligence, expert witness, maintenance planning, and managing repairs and refurbishment projects. Graham is a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. In addition to Graham's MRICS professional qualification, he is also a certified asbestos assessor and holds the BOHS-IP402 international qualification.

Nerea Gonzalez, B.Eng. (Hons) in Energy Engineering

Architectural Technologist

Nerea has experience in mining and solar energy, with particular emphasis on the design, operation, maintenance and management of energy installations in Spain. Since she arrived in Ireland she has been involved in various jobs and projects including Building Surveys, Measured Surveys, Planning Applications, Disabled Access Certificates and Fire Safety Certificates. She has developed a high level of design and drawing skills in various modeling software. She is currently studying for a Hight Diploma in Residential Energy Retrofit Management at the University of Technological University of the Shannon.

Intern Surveyor

Jack started with Logical in January 2023 as part of his college placement. Jack is expected to graduate with a building surveying degree from Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) in summer 2024. Jack has worked closely with senior colleagues preparing a range of statutory applications.
Jack is building his own list of clients at Logical delivering on a wide range of core building surveying services. Jack is currently working towards his assessment of professional competence (APC) for membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and plans to further develop his education over the coming years with Logical.
